Description

STACPRIMER-U1-ZIMIO is the steel primer, reinforced with an optimal mix of Zinc particles and MIO (micaceous iron oxide (III)) flakes, for the durable protection of steel structures (ferrous alloys) against rust and the formation of underlying cavities. It combines strong adhesion, excellent chemical resistance, selective galvanization, exceptional wear and impact resistance with high flexibility and elasticity (±30%). It outperforms hot and cold galvanizing, inorganic zinc, and epoxy primers.
STACPRIMER-U1-ZIMIO is applied in most weather conditions, even on damp surfaces. It is gray (± RAL 7037) with a matte finish. It is the preferred primer for pitted and/or complex steel and very effective as a "spot primer". STACPRIMER-U1-ZIMIO is a 1-component system, based on specific aromatic polyisocyanates, which react with water, even atmospheric moisture, creating moisture-cured polyureas (see The Story of U). It is ready for application by roller, brush, and spray gun.
